Workshop: Prospects in Strong Field Quantum Electrodynamics

Quantum Electrodynamics in its high intensity regime breaks down. Recent advances in ultrastrong lasers enable us to probe this regime in the near future (~5 years). This workshop aims to gather (international) driving forces addressing this hot topic. From theory, numerical physics to detector physics we wish to map out the first few knots to untangle.

Where, how, when: pratical details

  • Where? The workshop will be held in Corte within the Université de Corse in the middle of the georgous Corsican island.
  • When? From the 28th October to the 1st of November 2024
  • How?
    • Meals Arrival on the 28th, welcome dinner at l'Annexe other meals being served in the campus CROUS restaurant.
    • Transports The island can be reached mainly through Ajaccio and Bastia airports. From there Corte can be attained by using the local train line, and a bit of bus service to link both, or you can be shuttled by one of the organiser.
    • Hotel Invited guests will be housed at Hotel de la paix (breakfast included)
  • Computer stuff. Eduroam is available on campus. A printer is available if need be.
  • Format. Presentations can occur in the morning, blackboard presentation are highly preferred. Most of the time is devoted to work in small groups.
